The Digital Automatic Coupler (DAC) is set to transform European rail freight, acting as a major catalystfor digitalisation and automation. But how do we get there, and what does this change mean for the workforce, undertakings, and the industry in general?
We are pleased to invite you to this online event, to be held on 20 March 2026, which will answer these questions, and provide an overview of the strategy and the future of DAC.
Agenda highlights:
- High-level panel discussion: A multilateral debate on why DAC is beneficial, featuring unique perspectives from market stakeholders, policymakers, the rail industry and workforce.
- The European DAC Delivery Programme (EDDP) and the DACcord project: Insights from the project leaders on the complex work involved in managing a large-scale programme, including active stakeholder coordination led by UIC and aligning interests of stakeholders during this massive transition. UIC also played an active role in organising the DAC Forum Italy.
- The path forward: An overview of current DAC development, pre-deployment projects and the next steps.
